About my work, and your photographs

Photography is at its best a dynamic form of communication. Good photographs tell others and remind ourselves of all that makes this life meaningful...who we love, what we do, who we are, what matters to us. But photographers also speak into and shape the photograph through lighting and technical expertise, while evoking expression and interaction between people, or by simply recording what is there, with good composition, light, and technical skills.

I love taking photographs of people...inside or out, in their environment, or in my studio. I call it "organic"--because it's real, it's natural, it's who you are.

Organic portraiture

Natural, "organic" portraits and headshots aren't something you can just do for yourself with any old camera, or even purchase at the mall. Your portraits, whether made in your environment or in my studio, have to say something about you, show something about who you are...and that is done with skill and sensitivity in lighting, in technology, a creative, artistic vision and the ability to communicate with and understand people.
Photography is all about the subject, and how the light describes the subject; it's the light that defines and highlights the people in the photograph. I love playing with light.
The photos that move us capture that. They tell us something about the human condition, the beauty of the world around us, or on a simpler level, about the character and personality of the people themselves in the image.
This is what I want for you.

Relationships are what make the world go round. I want my photographs to be beautiful, but I want my photography to show your personality, your relationships..in other words, YOU and what matters most to you. Third, your portrait reflects me. And I know about how we all make decisions about businesses, and people in the workplace. I'm committed to creating for you excellent photographs that stand out above the rest. How to remember a beautiful day….

I’ve assembled nearly 200 images, after carefully editing them down from the original gazillion (or so it seemed). What to do with them? Thanks to Animoto.com, photographers have a solution: a beautiful video slideshow, complete with music! The neat thing is that this can be burned to a dvd in high resolution…What a wonderful keepsake…
