1. Albums are fun and easy to look through
Don’t you just love looking through photo albums of the people you love? My husband’s Aunt Betty has baskets of photo albums in her family room that we never can resist thumbing through when we visit. We don’t even know many of the people in them, but the albums chronicle the lives of Aunt Betty and Uncle Joe, and we-who-were-added-to-the-family-by-marriage (that’s me) have learned something about why these people are special, and why people love them!
On each of my kids’ birthdays, we’d pull out their photo albums and browse through them, marveling at how much they’d grown. I was lucky if I could keep up though, and for each child, their albums pretty much stopped at around 5 years old….life here was hectic! (I still have many envelopes of pictures unsorted, let alone in books.)
Digital files are great, but they aren’t nearly as convenient, or enjoyable, as handling a beautiful bound album of all the images you love. No more fumbling with DVDs, or searching on the computer for lost files, or being tied to the TV or computer to view the images. Take the album, and relax on the sofa, with friends and family beside you or looking over your shoulder…lingering on each page. Enjoy these images for a long time to come.
2. Professionally printed albums are beautifully made and solidly built
I’ve put together photo albums with triangular corners, or plastic sleeves, which really don’t do the print justice, let alone keep them in place. Now some of those original albums are in pretty bad shape. Photos are getting loose, or have fallen out….the binding is cracking…and my kids aren’t even that old!
I just love the albums available today…beautiful bindings, images integrated right into the paper. Large, two page spreads, and custom layouts. Personal. They are made with heavy pages, with photo paper adhered to cardstock, heavy covers made from your choice of materials. Every size you can imagine, too!
3. Albums are designed with you in mind
Of course, the images are already custom..they are you! And they are my art! But why not include other wonderful items…a name, or phrase, or Scripture verse, for example. If you ask me to photograph other special items, such as a piece of jewelry, clothing detail, etc., those too can make your album a custom collection of your memories. Certain images can span two pages…there is no gutter in these albums! Other spreads might hold many images…I design each one personally and they are truly a unique book of you!
4. Albums are an economical way to showcase your images
You can buy digital images for yourself, and make your own album, but do you really save money that way? My albums start at $500 and includes approximately 30 images. If you were to buy the digital images yourself, at $20/each, that same album would cost you considerably more in dollars and in time. Additional images can be added to your album for just $10 each.
If you have scheduled a photo session for your family, and now have dozens of great photos to choose from, use them all in a wonderful photo album. Make it something your family can browse through when they want, remembering this time in your lives together. Include text, if you want, or an invitation or announcement, if available. Capture that moment.
5. Albums are a finished product
Come on, admit it. Don’t you have prints waiting to be put into albums or frames? Don’t you have images on your computer you intend “one day” to print? When you get an album, you get all the images in it…but the work is done. Whether you ever do another thing with your digital images or not!
6. Albums are easy to store
Is wall space at a premium at your house? Did your session produce so many wonderful images that you just don’t know what to do with them? An album can hold so many images…of your child’s first year, of your senior’s last year in school, of a wonderful photo shoot. Use them all, and keep them at hand. The album takes up as much space as a book on your bookshelf!
7. Albums can be duplicated
When we celebrated my mother’s birthday a couple of years ago, I put together a photo album this way…of just that weekend we had, all of us in one place at one time. Now my parents have a photo album of all of us together that particular weekend in October, and so do we.
It’s easy once the album has been designed already to make copies, and I will pass on the savings to you. Just ask about this when you call me at 708.751.0009
8. Albums are great gifts
So you’re planning on getting one magnificent album….make another for grandparents! So easy, and once the design is set, the gift albums can be printed at a fraction of the initial cost, and at any size.
Your session itself is an event, which can provide beautiful images of you, your family, your friends…because it’s just too good to forget! When you order your album, ask about another for someone who loves you!
